This fine book is primarily an effort to explain the county history through architectural and historical information on homes and other buildings. Most of the information pertains to the Civil War and later periods. There is limited genealogical information.

The only reference to any Turner is on p. 128, where it explains that the Oakland Baptist Church in Richardsville was built in 1872 on land donated by Z.R. Turner and his wife, Mary.
