James (William?) Glendenning1
M
He was born at Lanark?, Lanarkshire, Scotland, U.K.. He married Mary Coulter. He died at Lanark?, Lanarkshire, Scotland, U.K..
Some family members say his name was William rather than James, according to Mary Amanda (Johnson) Ralston. He was a barrister and owned mills in Lanark. The mills failed and after his death, the family income was greatly reduced due to the dishonesty of an administrator of his law practice. The family moved to Glasgow, where Margaret and her brothers went to work in the mills. They later became part owners in a mill.
