He was born circa 1602 at Sulgrave Manor, Co. Northampton, England.2 He was the son of Lawrence Washington and Margaret Butler.3 He married Amphillis Twigden, daughter of John Twigden and Anne Dickens, in 1633 at prob. Purleigh, Co. Essex.2 He died in January 1653 at Co. Essex, England.2 He was buried on 21 January 1653 at Malden, Co. Essex.2
Rev. Lawrence Washington was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford, receiving a B.A. in 1623, was a Fellow in 1624, earned an M.A. in 1626, appointed proctor and lector in 1631, and received a B.D. in 1634.2
